# Qualifications, credentials, and Passport

A Qualification helps determine whether you meet a specific Campaign's conditions. Self-reported background, identity verification, skill credentials, course results, and agreements are different kinds of evidence; one does not replace another.

## Complete self-reported background

Open **Account → Self-reported background** and fill in the applicable areas:

| Area | Information |
| --- | --- |
| Skills | At least one skill you can use on tasks |
| Languages and Proficiency | Up to five languages and your proficiency in each; at least one and at most two marked Native |
| Current Residence | Country of residence and the region fields offered |
| Occupation Area | Up to three areas you work or study in, and optional years of experience |
| Highest Degree | Highest education level; university and major are optional |

Select **Save Information**. You can save in parts, but to be matched with tasks the profile needs all of these: your current country of residence, your highest degree, at least one occupation area, at least one skill, and at least one language marked **Native**. **Still needed to be matched with tasks** lists whatever is missing; until it is empty, the profile counts as incomplete. Saved **Native** language entries and occupation areas become fixed after your first save, so check them before you save. If one is wrong, use **Help** or [contact support](/help/support) to request a correction. Saving self-reported information is not identity or professional verification.

For identity, open **Passport** and select the **Identity** chip, shown in a warning colour until you are verified, or select **Verify now** in **Earnings**. Read **Before you submit** on that page before providing a document or selfie: it explains identity-check use, third-party image processing, retention, and consent. Authorized platform reviewers may inspect the submitted images when a manual review is needed. The verification result shown in Passport is separate from the original images.

For a capability assessment, open **Passport → Credentials → Verify your skills**. Select **Begin** on the opening screen, choose the relevant skill direction at the following **Choose a focus** step, and complete the adaptive interview. The last step, **Assessment**, shows **Verified**, **Almost there** (a reviewer is taking a second look), **Not passed yet** (you can take another run), or **Result unavailable**. A verified result adds a badge and a reputation reward to your profile. If your identity is not verified yet, both are held for 7 days from the result: complete identity verification inside that window, because a hold that passes 7 days expires and is not awarded afterwards. An attempt flagged for integrity review keeps its rewards withheld even when the outcome is **Verified** and your identity is already verified, so completing identity verification does not release those rewards. This interview is different from submitting an existing license or qualification. For another proof type, follow the specific Campaign requirement and its verification instructions; if no route is offered, [contact support](/help/support) with the Campaign, requirement, and a redacted message. Check that flow's explanation of who uses or sees its materials before submitting them; the identity-page terms do not automatically apply to it. If the flow gives no such explanation, [contact support](/help/support) before you submit anything. A required course opens from the Campaign or **Learn**. Do not upload identity documents to an ordinary task form.

## Verify your identity

On **Identity verification**, choose a **Document type** (**Passport**, **Driver's license**, **State ID**, **Resident ID card**, or **HK/Macao travel permit**), add the photos it asks for and a **Selfie (for face match)**, read **Before you submit**, give your consent, and select **Submit for verification**. You must be at least 16.

| Result | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **In review** | Nothing; a person is checking your submission |
| **Not verified** | Resubmit clearer images; the page shows the reason |
| **Re-verification needed** | Your verification is no longer valid; submit again |
| **Identity verified** | Nothing more to do |

**Before you submit** explains how long the images are kept. You can withdraw consent and ask support to delete your facial biometric data at any time.

## Read Passport

**Passport** opens on **Overview**, which summarizes Identity, Credentials, Reputation, Reputation by role, Roles & teams, Recent activity, and Badges; **Achievements** is the second tab. Your Passport is shown only to you today, so the **Privacy** button is locked until public Passports ship. This is different from the account's public profile.

Credential counts include **Not checked**, **Not provided**, **Verified**, **Expired**, and **Revoked**. A count cannot establish that a particular Campaign requirement is satisfied. Open the verification page or record that produced the individual credential:

| Record or check | What it means | Next action |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Not provided | No proof was submitted for this requirement | Use the corresponding profile or verification entry and provide accurate information |
| Pending review | The result is not final | Wait for the result in the same verification flow; avoid submitting the same application again |
| A check that did not pass, such as identity verification showing **Not verified** | The submitted proof was not accepted | Read the reason and correct or supplement it in that flow; ask support if the reason is unclear |
| Verified | This specific proof passed | Confirm its type, validity, and scope against the Campaign requirement |
| Expired | The proof is no longer current | Follow that credential's renewal instructions |
| Revoked | A previous result was withdrawn | Read its reason and follow the stated resolution route |
| Not checked or record unavailable | There is no reliable result to use yet | Retry the original record, then ask support if it remains unclear |

After resolving the specific item, return to the original **Campaign → Getting started** and check the remaining requirements before selecting **Join campaign**. Use **How your score works** for [reputation](/learning/reputation) and **All badges** for badges.
