# Meet participation requirements

A Campaign can require qualifications, course results, agreements, or other credentials before you can join its restricted work. Check the requirements for the Campaign you want to join. You do not need to complete every course and verification on the platform first.

## Find the requirements

In the Contributor portal, open **Campaigns**, select a Campaign, and read **Getting started**. It shows the outstanding requirements and whether **Join campaign** is available. Qualification and Academy labels on a Campaign card provide an introduction; the detail page shows your own result.

## Complete the missing items

| Requirement | Where to act | What to confirm |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Profile information, such as language or residence | Expand **Your qualification** and select **Complete your profile** | Your truthful information has been saved and meets this requirement |
| Identity, skill, or another credential | Follow the verification entry shown for that requirement | The result has the required type, validity, and verification level |
| A course result | Select **Take the required course** | The required Program's learning or assessment conditions have been met |
| An agreement | Open the applicable agreement and [sign it](#sign-an-agreement) | You have personally read and accepted it |
| A publisher invitation code | Obtain a valid code for this Campaign | The code is accepted and the remaining requirements are satisfied |
| Reputation or another condition | Read the specific condition and its supporting record | Your current result meets this condition |

Some Campaigns show a message instead of a requirement:

| Message | What it means | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| This campaign names no team its members can join from, so nobody can join it yet. | The Campaign is limited to team members, and Contributor Teams are not open in production | Choose another Campaign; see [Feature availability](/help/updates) |
| Warden still requires this agreement. Return to the original flow and try again. | The agreement check has not registered your acceptance yet | Go back to the Campaign or withdrawal you came from and try again; contact support if it repeats |
| We could not check your profile against this campaign's requirements just now. | The check did not load; it says nothing about whether you qualify | Try again shortly |
| This confidential campaign needs a protected surface. | This device cannot run the required protections | Continue on a desktop browser |
| A check cannot load or results disagree | Retry the page, then contact support if needed | The reason is understood before you continue |

Self-reported profile information and independently verified credentials serve different purposes. Editing a profile does not replace a required credential. If your real circumstances do not meet a requirement, choose suitable work instead of changing information to bypass it.

**Passed** applies to the individual check beside it. For example, an agreement can pass while a course remains incomplete. Courses, agreements, profile checks, and credentials are evaluated separately.

## Sign an agreement

Open an agreement from the requirement that needs it, or from **Agreements** in your account menu. That page groups agreements under **Action required**, **Warden is holding these**, and **Accepted & active**.

**Warden is holding these** lists restrictions, not acceptances waiting to catch up. It holds requirements that Warden has marked **Blocked**, **Escalated** or **Operator review**; some have no document to sign and read **Warden is holding this without a signable action**. Waiting, or signing a different agreement, does not clear them. Follow the requirement type and explanation shown on the entry; when it needs a person's review, wait for that outcome, and if the reason is unclear, email [hello@humanbased.ai](mailto:hello@humanbased.ai) with the requirement type and the time.

Each document sets what **Accept agreement** waits for:

| Gate | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **Read to the bottom** | Scroll to the end of the document |
| **Minimum view time** | Keep the document open for the seconds shown |
| **Type your full name to sign** | Type your full legal name. It must match the name on your contributor profile |

Once every gate shows as met, select **Accept agreement**. The record keeps the version, viewing time, scroll state, document hash, and signature. When the document is updated, an update can allow a grace period in which your earlier acceptance still counts; after it, or when the update has none, you are asked to accept the new version before you continue. **Agreement history** lists what you have accepted and which version.

## Complete a required course

Use **Take the required course** to open the course linked by the Campaign. Complete its learning units and required assessment, then inspect the recorded result. Opening the course is not completion.

A valid passing result from an older version of the same Program can still satisfy the requirement. Publishing another version, or changing the Campaign's version binding, does not by itself invalidate that result. Return to the Campaign for its actual eligibility decision instead of deciding that an unrelated course is equivalent.

## Use a publisher invitation code

If a Campaign requires a code, use its publisher's code in **Invite code from the publisher**, then select **Join campaign**. This is a Campaign invitation, separate from a registration referral or Organization membership invitation. If the input is not yet shown, first resolve the other missing requirements listed on the page.

An invalid, revoked, expired, or fully used code cannot grant entry. Check that it belongs to this Campaign, then ask the publisher for a usable code. Changing profile details or accepting an agreement again will not repair an invalid code.

Changing or revoking a code does not, by itself, remove access already redeemed through it. If you leave and join again, the invitation requirement applies again. A valid code still needs the other participation checks to pass.

## Return to the Campaign

After completing a requirement:

1. Confirm the result in the profile, verification, agreement, or learning page.
2. Return to the original Campaign.
3. Read its remaining requirements in **Getting started**.
4. When joining is available, select **Join campaign**.
5. Open **My Work** to claim a specific Task.

Meeting the conditions, joining the Campaign, and claiming a Task are three distinct steps. Task availability also depends on the Campaign's running state, task supply, and your quota.

## If requirements change after joining

Claiming new work can check the current requirements again. A changed profile, an expired credential, or an updated requirement may need attention. Read the specific reason shown and resolve the changed or expired item. Valid courses and credentials do not need to be repeated as a blanket fix.

If there is no eligibility warning and the issue is a pause, empty queue, or quota, follow the task's availability state. If a source course or credential is valid but the Campaign still rejects it, contact [hello@humanbased.ai](mailto:hello@humanbased.ai) with the requirement, recorded result, time, and a redacted message.
